As important as recognising any problem or sin is, to move forward in addressing it without the focus on God is just another form of idolatry.

Church: high tea or women’s expo?

If I want to talk to my friend, I wouldn’t suggest going to movie. Why? because I would be competing for their attention over the movie soundtrack and visual distraction of the screen.

Why we need to allow despair.

What if every time we offer someone a solution to their problems that does not involve nor reference God’s word, we are telling them that ‘man can totally life without a single word from the mouth of God.’

Sorry; The hardest thing to say.

We all know that the moment ‘Sorry’ is followed by one single word of justification it actually and immediately turns from being a word of healing to a words of absolute poison in a relationship. Because now we’ve been lied to as well.

When you do finally hit the jackpot…. throw it away.

Recently it has occurred to me that in both life and leadership, when something really works and I’ve ‘hit the jackpot’ so to speak, I’m immediately thinking stuff like: “Well, this is obviously the right formula/way to do things so I’m going to keep doing it.”

Why I fell back in love with the idea of sovereign grace.

Please don’t miss this: when Jesus came to earth, he ‘copped it’ from the religious leaders of his day. NOT because he was abolishing the Old Testament, but because he was fulfilling it.
